Mattel TINY CHATTY BABY AFRICAN AMERICAN in original outfit talk! as is. This doll is VERY RARE, it is very hard to find an African American tiny chatty baby, and this one has her original outfit and still talks! Her talk box could definitely use some cleaning, and I bought her with the intent of having to do so, but i was surprised to find out she still works! Her voice is a bit scratchy but I did hear her say "night night" and "I love you mommy" and "hello" as well as some phrases I couldn't decipher. If you are interested in cleaning the voice box, it is actually a fairly simple process (I have done it for other pull toys to do repairs on them). All you have to do is unscrew the screws on the body, and use rubbing alcohol on a rag to carefully wipe the needle and ribbon, and then screw her back together! Talk boxes are tiny recordings on ribbon, and the sound come through the needle when it touches the ribbon (just like a record player) so they just need a simple cleaning to bring them back to life!
