The walkman will need a replacement battery pack as there is no battery included. The unit can power on with just the A/C adapter/battery charger connected in but only for a few seconds. The screen will read "battery exhausted" and then shut itself off. The buyer will definitely need a replacement battery pack to get use of this item.

GV-300 Video Walkman comes exactly as pictured with AC adapter/battery charger, manual, RCA A/V cables, car A/C adapter/charger, earbuds, original carry pouch and one Maxell 8mm tape, all packaged in a Mohawk carry bag!!!
No battery pack is included with this package. Buyer will need to provide their own compatible battery pack to operate this device. The unit cannot be solely powered from the A/C adapter/charger. It will turn on only for a few seconds and then power itself down with a "Battery Exhausted" message. The buyer will need a replacement battery pack to use this walkman.
