    Description
    Offered for sale is a Victorian trade card advertising a performance of the Children's Pinafore by the New York Miniature Opera Company. If presented, the card reduced the price of admission to 15 cents.
    The troupe was disbanded in the 1890s, as were many other companies using children exclusively, by the efforts of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, who reported that the children were overworked and underfed, and many left untreated when ill. It was also reported that some children did not return home after the disbanding, but were scooped up by even worse venues.
