Welcome to this listing. We are very pleased to offer a vintage circa 1962-1964 20-inch Chatty Cathy doll with blue eyes, red (auburn) hair in pigtails, and hard face.  She is dressed in an original blue gingham party dress with pinafore, panties, blue hair ribbons, socks, and dark blue shoes.  The dress has a Mattel label which states "Chatty Cathy by Mattel."  The shoes are marked "Japan."  The back of the doll is marked "Chatty Cathy 1960, Chatty Baby 1961, by Mattel, Inc., U.S. Pat. 3,017,187, Other U.S. & Foreign Pat. Pend., Pat'd in Canada 1962." This was the last body marking and was used between late 1962 and 1964.
This adorable Chatty Cathy doll and outfit are in good used condition.  She makes noise but is not distinct. Her dress and pinafore are not damaged.  We don't think the hair ribbons or the panties are original.  The socks have slight blue color from the shoes. The seam at the back of one of the shoes is ripped and the elastic in one of the shoes is loose.  Please use the photos to assist you in determining if the condition of this doll and its outfit meets with your requirements.
