Vintage RARE Miss Barbie Doll NRFB Mattel 1964 Sleep Eyes Original Never Opened

This is lovely, unusual, and hard to find vintage Miss Barbie doll by Mattel, circa 1964, never removed from original box (NRFB). The clear plastic wrapping around outside of box was opened when I got it. So I did carefully slide off the clear plastic in order to get better pictures of the doll and contents, and then when finished photographing, I put the plastic back on.
I got this item from a friend back in 1995. My friend’s mother passed away, and while my friend was cleaning out her mom’s house to sell….. she found this doll way in the back of an upper shelf of a bedroom closet. She knew I liked dolls.. so she asked me “Is it worth anything?”. Of course I said yes! And that I wanted to buy it. My friend surmised that her mom must’ve bought the doll a long time ago and then set it aside to give as a gift to one of her kids later.. and then forgot it was there all these years! It appears from the price tag that the doll was marked down on clearance in the store.
The doll appears untouched and the contents compartment also appears untouched. I didn't want to try to open that and mess anything up since it is so pristine right now. The original clear plastic wrap IS open on one end…… and the box itself does have some minor shelf wear (please see photos). This doll has been stored for a long time! From the many years in my friend’s mom’s closet… to 25 years stored in my smoke free home stored in climate controlled rooms and kept out of sun. Now she can be yours!

I've had a few questions about wanting to know what the head looks like and asking about melt marks on the head.  Here is my clarification about that:      I didn't dismantle anything about this doll or remove any clothing....since I believe (and it appears) it is NRFB. So I haven't seen her head under the cap.. My understanding is the melt marks on Miss Barbie come from contact with the vinyl on the wigs. Since the wigs are still wrapped in clear plastic, and doll has never been taken out of this box as far as I can see....I assumed her head would have no opportunity for melting or damage.
