Description
JVC Professional VHS Video Cassette Recorder VCR BR-6400UThis is a professional TV/video production VCR.
It has a NICE picture.
But the main audio outputs have a very low level. These are supposed to go through an amplifier, but their levels are still very low. I suspect there's a problem with the audio circuit.
However, the "Monitor" out has a stronger audio level output.
As with any professional deck, this unit uses BNC inputs and outputs. I have included a BNC to RCA adapter, so this VCR can be connected to the composite (yellow) input of a television. Through this connection, the picture looks great.
Other functions work, fast forward, rewind, pause. But the higher-level functions have not been tested.
HOWEVER
: the Play function works when the unit is cold. If the vcr has been turned OFF for several hours, it will Play/Stop with no problem. But if it has been running for about an hour, and you press Stop, it will not start back up when you press Play. If you change tapes, it still will not Play.
If you press Play after the unit has been running for an hour, the machine whirs and clicks. The Play button lights, then turns off and the Stop button lights. It will not play again until it cools back down. No idea why this is happening.
The unit is in good physical condition, with wear and various marks after usage and storage.
It weighs 38 pounds and measures 17" x 17" x 6".
It includes a plug-in Receiver Unit module for a remote control.
